Antimicrobial Resistance is now a serious worldwide concern, but microbiologists have been aware of this growing problem for many years. Microbiology at Interfaces tests a range of antimicrobial and biocidal products in order to understand and develop a niche area of specific antimicrobial development. Metals have always been of particular interest since they are difficult for the bacteria to develop resistance to as they attack multiple sites on the cell. Such products may be developed for use in a range of medical, food and environmental systems.
